This Jude parallels Satan wanting Moses’ body with the Korah’s rebellion. And I think it shows that Satan planned to puppet Master Moses’ body leading the nation of Israel way from God and Moses’ replacement Joshua and Caleb as Korah had done with Moses and Aaron.
God did not allow this repeat of history as recorded in Numbers 27:12–23.
Moses was essentially the point of where God put favour with one person/group over another. It is where He separated the “good” and the “bad” and called the Israelites “His” people.
We're not told how or why they were so favoured/special. But they were and obviously the body of their leader would be also.
It's just a body. Yes, but just the body and you can make a case for following his teachings…have the body…you must be following him while others aren't.
Satan was looking to do miracles with Moses’ body…no idea what…but make him “come to life” again isn't put of possibility.
Back then, having the body of someone else meant you might be as powerful or more powerful than they were. The body could be preserved and honoured or spit on and food for wild dogs…and people then believed that a mutilated body wasn't welcome in heaven or hell… it went to a nether region.
Did these angels actually argue over the body? No, it was the USE of such the body. Oh, he is buried here and so on…a shrine point. God said no and no one knows his burial ground. No one needs know.
The dead know nothing. It's the living who build cemetaries and masoleums and monuments to honour the dead. Why? Read what I wrote earlier…
